A great accessory for Sterling and ProMariner chargers!
I purchased this unit to interface with a Sterling ProCharge Ultra ST-PCU-1260, which is identical to a ProMariner ProNautic 1260P. I use this on a boat, and will periodically have to run the generator while I’m away from the dock to recharge the house batteries. I would have to keep peeking into the engine room in order to see the charger display to know whether or not I’d put a sufficient enough charge on them, or should keep running the generator longer. I mounted this remote display at the boat’s breaker and electrical panel. Now, I just have to glance at it to know exactly what the charger is doing. The cable used appears to be a standard phone jack of some sort, and passes both power and the signal. I don’t recall whether it was four or six pin, but it seemed to me that buying extra cord for a longer connection, or cutting this one and crimping on a new end with the proper tool, wouldn’t be out of the question. I had more than enough to pass through the engine room to the panel, and just wrapped up the excess and zip-tied it to a convenient spot. I drilled a 1/2″ hole in a blank area of my panel to pass the wire through, then used 3M double-sided tape (the thin, grey stuff) to hold it down. It did not come with mounting screws, but does have four holes should you want to drill some more. A rectangle could also be cut for flush mount, if desired. For flush mount, part of the bezel slips off so that you have a flange to overlap the hole. There are not a lot of instructions, and only few things to do. Really the only options I can find are to turn the back-light off, change the language, and change from either scrolling through all the display options or leave it on just one.I like that there is additional information available from the charger unit through this display. Various temperatures, such as batter, charger, and transformer, can all be seen. There is also an indicator showing time until full charge.I like the scrolling display, but I wish some screens could be turned off. For example, I don’t need to see the service phone number and the charger part number that it’s connected to more than once after startup. Primarily, I want to see the current and voltage the charger is outputting. Most likely I will not use the scrolling feature and just leave it on the charger output screen. When the AC power is removed from the charge, the remote display turns off as well.All-in-all, a nice little device to monitor at a glance what’s happening down below. I’m pleased with the purchase.

works great
works just as it says it will. I would have given 5 starts, except it is connected to the multi bank charger and this remote station will only display information for one bank.

Easy installation
My charger is in a stern compartment on my sailboat and not easy to read. The remote installed below on my cabin control panel makes it easy to monitor my batteries. Just had to run what looks like a phone cable from the compartment to the control panel

Adequate
Works as advertised but could be better. Really needs a nmea 2000 interface. Would be nice if it was powered by the batteries so you could see battery voltage. Its only on when ac power is available.

Nice addition if the charger is not mounted where it is easily viewable
A very nice addition to a ProMariner charger installation. There are a number of pages of useful information provided in a small footpront. This is a mount, plug & play display that comes with plenty of cable. I mounted it approximately 8 feet from the charger and still had quite a bit of extra length to coil and secure (I did not measure it before installing so can’t give an accurate length.

Simple but effective
Install was easy however routing the wire was a pain in the neck. Recommended future upgrade would be offer a bluetooth or wifi option. Tell me what the charger is doing at the helm. No need to go down into the engine room to see what the charger is doing. I recommend this product for peace of mind.

Can’t program my ProNautic 1240P with this
Nice display, if all you want is a display. However, at least with my current-model ProNautic 1240P charger, this remote CAN’T be used to program the charger or change its settings. Oh, it has a “Setup” button, but you can’t change anything on the charger with it–just some display functions on the remote itself. My sole reason for buying this remote was that my charger is buried in a hard-to-access compartment, and I was expecting the remote to offer all the same functions as the charger’s front panel. Nope. Nice status readouts, but no setup capabilities. Maybe it works better with other ProNautic chargers, but it’s useless to me with my 1240P. Back it goes.

Works as expected
Replaced a charger that had remote read , this is the remote for new unit. I like it better than old remote as you can turn off display on it so it is not so bright at night. Has one small blue led that stays on, but not that bad.

Was easy to in stall and Diden
Was easy to in stall and Diden,t take long to program . Only draw back would be that when you un plug from shore power that it does not show what the battery’s have for power. Was disappointed , thes is crucial wen your on a mooring or on a anchor for couple of days.

Do like to see what the voltage is doing though
Does not allow you to adjust from Battery Charge to Power supply. That is the main reason I purchased, so I did not have to crawl down in the hole on the boat. Do like to see what the voltage is doing though.

Does the Job
This should come standard with the ProNautic chargers, however.

Amazon description said people normally buy these together with 3 bank battery charger. It does not. There is no Cat 5 wire socket to plug in on the charger.
