Great doorbell. It does run a bit hot, but functions very well.

Newer versions of this doorbell are out now, but this one still checks all the boxes of what someone would want in a smart doorbell. The build quality is great, it has plenty of options for mounting, it is quick to detect and alert, and it has 24/7 recording, which is hard to find from smart door bells.I also love not having a subscription. Visitors are always surprised by the screen which you can use to display custom messages or gifs too.

One of the reasons I got this doorbell was that I don’t have to pay to access my recordings and I already have an Unifi NVR. Overall the picture quality is excellent and the AI detection works well. The additional package camera seems to detect about half the packages I get and has had some issues, but overall works well.Installation was easy and I had no major issues with the install. My existing transformer worked well and I didn’t need to upgrade it.I like the screen on this doorbell too where you can put images or phrases for people (like to leave packages, or wish them a Happy Valentines day, the choice is up to you.

This thing has been working perfectly ever since I installed it. Crystal clear video from both cameras and the same great smart detections you’ll find with their other cameras. One thing that took me by surprise was the packaging… it’s presented beautifully and has the same quality and vibe of an iPhone box. Very well done overall.I do wish, however, that they put the same amount of effort into utilizing the hardware of the device. I found out that this has a fingerprint scanner below the LCM/Speaker which is yet to be used by the protect software. Additionally, NFC and custom images on the LCM are still not present despite the device being capable of these things.I feel like these software shortcomings have existed far too long in this product’s lifecycle to be accidental. I have absolutely no other complaints about this thing and I really wanted to give it 5 stars, but I can’t.Regardless, it does everything I need (minus custom message images) today and I’m still going to love this thing even if the aforementioned features never see the light of day.

Update: working 100% now. Seems it may take a bit after setup for the chime to play nice. Not sure why but it’s perfect now.Original:If you’re already in the Ubquiti / Unifi ecosystem this is the doorbell you want. It works great, the button is obvious and not confusing (another I had before people would try to push on things other than the button), it looks great, and the Protect software is great. The only negative I’ve found is that the support for mechanical door chimes is lacking. My chime worked fine with other smart doorbells but this one simply won’t ring it. I can use the Unifi wifi chime instead but that is extra cost.

We had 2 Blink doorbells for about a year and a half. They were around $50 each so it was hard to justify the $600 cost for 2 of these to replace them for better alerts, etc. Then Blink crippled their app unless we paid $100/yr for the 2 doorbells. Now these 2 will pay for themselves in a few years, especially when Blink inevitably raises their rates again.Ubiquity has added people, vehicle, and pet AI detections so I was able to turn off generic motion detection on our front door. That camera faces a busy street, and headlights illuminating the lawn and reflectors on passing vehicles at night would constantly trigger the Blink alerts (and Ubiquity as well until I turned off the general motion detection zone).Blink required Energizer lithium AA batteries that lasted 2-3 months tops and cost $20-25 per 8-pack (about $50 extra per year on top of the $100 subscription fee), these are hardwired to the doorbell transformer so I never have to swap batteries. Or lose a camera when the batteries cut out.I can open the Unifi Protect app on my phone and via a website on any computer. That lets me bring up the cameras and keep a live view going until the page logs out or I refresh. This type of monitoring was impossible with Blink, and it only allowed 10 seconds at time via the app.All of the footage is recorded locally to the UDM Pro and the 4TB HDD i installed so no cloud or 3rd party access to it, but I can still view my cameras and alerts remotely. The one con that is really driving me nuts is the inability to snooze alerts/detections for a period of time. I don’t need to be spammed with detection alerts as I circle the property mowing the lawn, going up and down the driveway snow blowing, or while our daughter is sitting on the front steps waiting for the bus. For now I have a less intrusive/annoying alert sound set and mute my phone if the alerts drive me nuts (mostly due to the 3 G3 Flex cameras that do not have smart detection and will trigger when snow blows past the camera).

Installed easily; had to replace transformer with higher voltage; 16VAC/30VA Doorbell Transformer to work with my old mechanical door chime. Wasn’t issue with Door bell; I suspected I would need to replace my old transformer. Only problem I had was I couldn’t setup doorbell with my iphone; wouldn’t see doorbell; luckily was able to use android phone that did work and setup Unifi Protect and device.

    Good but expensive
Good product if you’re in the Unifi ecosystem; the camera could be improved, and I was getting a halo circle in the image. It needs an additional chime, which is as expensive as a new doorbell from other vendors with a chime.

Used many other doorbell brands this one is A+
These are not cheap, alongside the heavy price of the doorbell you need a cloud key. However, it is by far the best build quality and user experience I’ve had. I’ve test many doorbells.
