Overall this is a well-made camera and has good quality. I saw the comments saying the camera is overpriced. In my opinion, it’s not. I you want higher quality with all the functionality this camera offers, you are going to spend easily twice the money. Your next level higher will be Pelco and Axis. One thing to note, you will have to provide your own video server. The sample video is an install where I used all Unifi equipment, network switch, and router. The picture quality is pretty good by most standards. My only slight complaint is the frame rate caps at 24 FPS. The cameras I mentioned earlier cap at 30 FPS. The higher frame rate will give you better video quality of high-speed motion. The night vision is not bad, but if you are looking for facial recognition quality, you need to go for a higher-quality camera. For the average consumer, this camera system puts you at the doorstep of commercial-grade high-end systems.

There were (3) of these cameras in the package. (1) was no good, that’s a 1/3 failure rate, not good! Placed this order with Amazon along with all that we would need to install a security system. To get all of the items took more than a month which exceeded the amazon return time. Hind sight says to get everything else and then order the cameras, even route all your wires so they are ready, have your networks and hard drives ready as well and maybe have one camera to test all the runs, then place the order for the final cameras. I am now trying to deal with Ubiquiti direct for warranty and the referal for this one was a company located in Latvia, that does not work. Just a heads up on process.

I bought a pack of 3 and after a few rain storms they all died. I pulled them down and they all had water inside because they aren’t sealed very well. I do not recommend this model for exterior use or in wet environments. I got a replacement package of 3, and filled all the gaps with silicone. So far so good.

Ubiquiti’s Protect products are rock solid and high quality. We’ve installed MANY of these cameras in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and our customers love the quality and ease of use of the Unifi Protect system. You will need either a Cloud Key Gen 2 Plus contoller, a Unifi Dream Machine, or a Unifi NVR to controller, manage, and view these cameras. They are cloud accessible/manageable and very easy to get video data off of. The cameras have a wonderful 1080p processor, and the PRO models do even better! Highly recommended system, compared to other camera gear on the market!

Ubiquiti is a great product and you do not need any license to run equipment.

These are the only Ubiquiti cameras I put outside. They last, and provide great images. Love them!
